I checked the event viewer and it was indeed related to nvidia I was able to control alt delete -> task manager and end gw2 and successfully recover without a hard reboot. When it goes in the black screen, the GW2 mouse cursor is still there and moveable, with the ingame music still playing. Hi Jimenez thanks for responding! I followed the link and updated the bios, but unfortunately when I ran GW2 today after about 30 minutes or so I got the freeze then black screen. With games such as Guild Wars 2, Cities XL 2012,Simcity Societies or Civilization v, the games will play for a little bit, sometimes gives a blackscreen for a couple of seconds and return to normal (and in that a few times I seen a little bubble 'nvidia displays drivers have recovered') but other times I don't get so lucky.
